The total lock progressive brake mechanism allows the wheels to swivel and rotate freely when in the "off" position, and will prevent swiveling and rotation when in the "on" position. The central locking mechanism can be locked in three distinct positions, providing free swiveling, swivel locked with wheel free, and total locking of both wheels and swivel. The locking system uses complementary metal teeth on the wheel hub and swivel pin and does not cause the wear on brake pads and tire surfaces common to conventional friction brakes.

New SingleTech Combi swivel casters are available in four total lock and eight total and directional lock models with load capacities ranging from 198 to 330 lbs. (A black capsule distinguishes the total lock models; blue for total and directional lock.) Models with 5" and 6" wheel diameters are offered with overall heights of 168mm and 190mm respectively. Swivel radii for the 5" casters are 104mm and 124mm for the 6" models. Standard wheel materials include gray polyurethane and gray rubber. A variety of options are available including: "gold seal" washable casters, "D" cam mounting, color finishes (White RAL 9000 is standard), and electrically conductive tires.

The Revvo Caster Company, Inc. introduces its new "Gang Box Caster Kits" to add casters to a new mobile tool box or replace the casters on an existing gang box, job box, tool box or work box. The heavy-duty, lightweight casters are specially designed to handle heavy loads and withstand hard impacts. Three caster kits are available, each including two swivel and two rigid casters plus 16 attaching bolts, with wheel diameters of 4", 5" and 6".

The casters are forged for extra strength, feature roller bearings, and a durable, weather-resistant zinc finish. The bolt patterns are designed to match the most popular brand name boxes, and a grease zerk fitting provides easy caster lubrication of the swivel wheel. Revvo Caster Company, Inc. introduces its new PlasTech Solus swivel casters. Available in low height and standard height models, the new PlasTech casters are designed for medical equipment, home and office furniture, promotional and retail display units, catering and other appliances, distribution trolleys, and other applications requiring ergonomic performance and attractive styling.

Constructed of high-performance thermoplastics, the new PlasTech casters come in wheel diameters of 4" and 5" with load capacities of 176 lbs. and 220 lbs. respectively, Revvo states. Low height 4" diameter models are 4.1" high to the base of the stem; low-height 5" dia. models are 5.2" high. Standard height 4" dia. models are 5" high; 5" dia. models are 5.8" high. A choice of roller or ball bearings is offered. Standard body finish is White RAL 9003 with Gray RAL 7005 polyurethane tires. Custom colors are available.

Low height 5" models can be ordered with a total lock brake or a directional lock, according to Revvo, while the total lock brake and directional lock are available with both the 4" and 5" standard height models. Options include: alternative mounting stem and thread sizes; washable versions with durable plastic bearings and stainless steel ball bearing, pin and axle; self-colored, scratch-resistant thermoplastic parts to complement equipment; alternative tire material and hardness; and removable wheels.

The Revvo Caster Company, Inc. introduces its new Towcasters to move ISO freight containers quickly and easily without using expensive equipment such as cranes, gantries, or side-loading forks. The extra-heavy-duty casters are provided in sets of four, two swivel and two fixed casters, and feature rugged polyurethane-on-cast-iron wheels. Towcasters are available in two sizes with wheel diameters of 10 inches and load capacities of 22,000 lbs., and 12-inch wheel diameters with 26,400-lbs. load capacities. One person can install a set of Towcasters on a container following simple instructions provided by the company.

New Towcasters are designed for power towing up to 5 mph and are suitable for moving empty or evenly loaded containers up to 40-ft. in length. They are a low-cost solution for container manufacturing, repairing, and marshalling for loading and unloading. In addition, Towcasters economize storage space, allowing containers to be maneuvered and parked away from the lifting facility. Since there are no protruding parts, containers can be positioned close together without damage.

Complete Towcaster sets include four extra-heavy-duty casters with locking screws, a lifting handle, and a ratchet spanner. (The accessories are also available as spare parts.) The 10-inch diameter Towcasters have a tread width of 3 inches and mounting height of 15-3/4 inches. The 12-inch diameter Towcasters have a tread width of 4 inches and mounting height of 17-7/8 inches.

The patented Towbar is sold optionally in sets of two with new Revvo Towcasters. It enables towing by tractor, fork truck, or other type of towing vehicle, according to the company. The Towbar measures 8 feet long and fits securely into the ISO container corner brackets immediately above the swivel Towcasters. The Towbars attach to the towing vehicle using standard link pins up to 1-1/2" diameter (not supplied).

Featuring soft, streamlined contours, PlasTech casters are constructed of high-performance thermoplastics and feature a labyrinth assembly to protect the axis and bearing against the ingress of dirt, moisture and other contaminants. The series includes one low-profile swivel model (4-1/8") and two standard-height swivel models (4-3/4"). One of the standard models is offered with a directional wheel lock tested in accordance with BSEN12530 to a minimum of 390N. The new SJE Series casters are available in three models, including 5" (125mm) and 6" (150mm) wheel diameters with load capacities of 1,320 lbs. Responding to the demand for a lower overall caster height in a variety of OEM and material handling applications, The Revvo Caster Company, Inc. announces the introduction of its new 2SL Series twin-wheel caster with 35mm (1-3/8") diameter wheels. With a caster height of only 2-1/4" (1/4" lower than Revvo’s standard 2SL model), the new low-height caster has a load capacity of 264 lbs. and is designed for moving equipment and loads over level surfaces.

The new 2SL casters feature black nylon wheels, which are clean, lightweight and can be used with a minimum of lubrication. In addition, the new 35mm black nylon wheels are virtually non-marking, cause very little floor damage, and are resistant to oils, fats, alkalis, soaps, and detergents. Tread width for the new 35mm wheels is 9/16”, and the 2SL model top plates have fixing holes to suit 1/4-inch diameter countersink head screws.
